I recall a website for Johnson outboards that was mentioned which I could determine the year and model of a motor. Does anyone have it handy? - Sob

If the model and serial# tag is still on the motor and you post that info I can give you the year and other info about the motor.

Looks like this motor is like my boat... there's just nothing to identify it! I looked all over it (unless there's a secret compartment that I don't know about) and can find absolutely nothing with a serial number or model on it! It would be a lot easier if I had a digital camera or a scanner but, I don't. All I can determine is this: It's a 6.0 hp, pull-start, two stroke. There was the date of 06-02-1998 on the metal flywheel cover. If the info was on the sticky label on the plastic flywheel cover that's on top of the metal one, well.... no print left on it at all.

It's totally a gun metal gray. The Johnson stickers on the side are stylized with Harley-like wings trailing it over a red, Nike like slash that has a outlined horse's head speeding through curly whitecaps. This is probrobly about the dumbest way to describe it but, that's all I got to go with! I think I'll take it to the dealer and see what he can come up with. Thanks anyway - Sob
