Wow.... Just goes to show ya where the $$ are at... Hulls are cheap, all the toys that make them go cost the big bucks... Someone wanted those internals pretty bad...

Ouch... :sly:

Still a hell of a buy for 7k for a 33OL, but is the interior gone as well? What gets me if I was stealing motors and outdrives why didn't they just cut the transom? Looks like they took every bolt out....why waste the time? sawzal and they coulda had the outdrives off in no time flat, but what do I know I'm not a theif.... :nono:

miami csi would have been involved, they would known the exact blade and sawzall that was used and there would have been fiberglass chips embedded in there skin, they would have caught them in under an hour

It would be a nice proj boat, i could buy a couple parts once a month & about every 10 yrs buy a 525 for it.

I dont know if it is fishy or not. They may have had a garage and had weeks to dismantle it.

In any event, I agree with Dave. At 7K there is money to be made there. I just wish I could see interior pics.

But if you throw axles, wheels and tires on that trailer and have a trailer that is worth about 5K alone.

So im going thru the OSO classifieds. Looks like a pair of 525's go for $40-$50k (or around $20k for 496's) & a pair XR drives are about $20k. I would think that would make up the largest chunk of your costs. I dont know how u would get the other items like the helm area, sunpad, rear bench, etc. I guess wait till they sell it on ebay...

Lookin at the pics of the cockpit all stripped out, i cant help but think that would be the perfect chance to install a new stereo system. :smokin:

Looking at the salvage pics I'd almost say it was TOO NEAT of a job like someone was stripping it for personal reasons they took WAY too much stuff for it to be a theft. How many people steal interior parts on a boat. Unless you have a 33OL those parts are useless. The engines, drives, tabs ect are worth something on the open market, but I'd almost have to say that was a goodway for a boat to get paid off and then possibly get it back and reinstall everything. Most chop shops I've seen cars come out of you could never put it back together. This looks like with some time and work you could put everything back together. Only thing you might need is a wiring harness does look like they might've cut a few wires along the way.
