Looks like a nice boat. The one question I would ask the owner or dealership is has it been in saltwater. I know most likely your going to take it and have it in saltwater as well, but if its already been in saltwater all of the 160hrs of its life your most likely going to run into mechanical repairs unlike a boat that has been in freshwater its whole life. Also I'd believe low to mid 60's on speed but not 70 with the 310hp MPI's My boat with the 496 Mags 375hp would only do 68-70 stock and after adding some labbed props I saw 74 gps. I'm not trying to be negative as I know your excited. Just some issues I might be watching out for. The 302 is a GREAT boat and I love mine.

I returned your PM and just saw your post. I know the dealer, ive been there before. If its been rack stored and flushed every time it was used i dont think you will have many issues but for sure salt water enviroment is more harsh than fresh.
If you need somebody on the east coast to help, i would be willing. But as i said in my PM.....get a survey. I also have a friend that sells trailers and if it needs to be on a trailer b4 it leaves here then he might be albe to help.
The 7.4 motors are ok as long as you dont spend alot of time in the upper RMP's (IMO) and at 162 hours the motors are barely used.
Let me know if you need more assistance.......visit, test run, help with trailer, ect.
Im sure your excited but remember this saying : "The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the taste of cheap price."

I agree, 160 hours is barely used. As far as speed goes. Obviously GPS is more accurate than most speedo's. But I have been in many 302's with 7.4's and it is plenty of power. The boats have good acceleration and all have shown 70 or just a tick under on the speedo. If the price is right, I would say that is a good find.

I guess I should clarify what I mean regarding mechanical. Manifolds, waterpumps. Corrosion I was referring to would be electrical connections.
I'm with Phil on this get a survey done by a qualified surveyor it'll save you lots of possible headaches in the future.
And no 160hrs aren't alot of hours for a 7.4L, actually very low for the year of the boat. I hope it all works out for you and you get it to CA. They are a awesome boat...

 Thank guys,The deal is coming together now,Price is agreeded upon, shipping is set(same as Chrisf),using a escrow co.,the trailer is the issue now ,there is a hugh price difference for a towed transport and a trailered one.
I spoke to the place where its at and the lady knows the boat real well, all mantained there as they were a Baja dealer before and sold it to them new,
The boat is owned by a guy that was given to him from his dad and doesn't usae it and needs to get rid of it before Nov.as it will need to be winterized and the pier shuts its doors for winter.
Phil ,you need to clear some space on you pm's so I can send more.
