OK let's see how many of us there are on this board!

There ought to be some new guys N gals here too. I managed to hand out a couple of membership cards today.

Also if you plan on going to the Lake Travis poker run on the weekend of April 5th, maybe we can coordinate a Baja convoy! Mention when you plan on leaving for Austin.

Me, I'm waiting for my work schedule to be finalized. Should know by the 26th if I'm off that weekend. If so I may leave for Travis on Friday the 4th but I still don't have a hotel res.
Might end up sleeping in the boat! :D

Chris, you know i'm around. It will be interesting to see have many Conroe Baja's we have out there. Keep passing the cards around. Also, there used to be a red baja 260 in Cape Conroe. I think it had a white stripe. Near the boat ramp. Mine looks just like that one except its teal, with white, black, and grey. No Travis in April. But a long weekend in June is always planned for us.

We haven't been to conroe in months now, we have been traveling to summerville since july. The water is smoother but a little low in spots, and not very crowded.
I have only seen 1 Baja 20 outlaw since we have been going there, but a lot closer to our house.

I've frequented Conroe since the late 80's back when the water by Gottahaveit's house used to be smooth and a good place to ski even on the weekends. That was before all the bulkhead went up across from Del Lago.

We trade off between Conroe and the San Jac River/Clear Lake/Galveston Bay area. We go to Conroe to relax and go to the river for the parties!

Busta, i took mine to San Jac a year ago. Put in at I10. Had someone with me who knew the river. Went to Banana Bend and hung out for awhile and the up the river to a sandy beach below the dam. Can't remember what it was called. It was on the right. That was a fun day. Never realized it before. Didn't make it this summer. What a great place to "baja", so different than Conroe.

Keith,

When we go to the river, we usually put in at Love's marina which is sort of between Banana Bend and Newport. Newport is the subdivision with the sandy beach you're referring to just before the dam. Between Banana Bend and Love's Marina is the infamous "Skinny Dip" hole where all the boats go on Sunday afternoons in the summer. It gets quite wild there with some nice scenery and a few freakshows, if you know what I mean.

If you would have gone the other way at I-10, you could have taken the ship channel out to the bay and down to Clear Lake, Galveston, or however far you want to go....Lake Charles, etc.

The river is definitely quite different than Conroe but both have their pros and cons.

Take care,
Chris

Busta, that's it, Newport. That was not as crowded as Banana Bend. One of the boats with us put in at Love's. We used I-10 because its a better ramp. Also good running up to Banana. We went by skinny dip hole but didn't make the turn into there. I don't trailer mine much so the oportunity to go to the River doesn't happen much. This coming weekend i think we're heading to Clear Lake to chill out on friends Hatteres. Hopefully the weather will be good so we can head out into the bay, but its looking iffy. I'll be heading out to Del Lago tomorrow to clean up the Baja since its been idle awhile.

Hey Chris, that wasn't you running today was it? I was cleaning the boat but could never get a good look over the trees. What a beautiful day on Lake Conroe. Upper 80's and no wind. I was gonna go out but too much clean up. Haven't been to Del Lago in a few weeks so the spiders had taken over. But after a few hours work, had the 260 shining again.

Wish it were. I haven't run mine since Sunday. I'm currently going through groundschool on the Boeing 737 so my 25 is gonna be parked until late November. Luckily this is Houston so I'm sure there are a few more weeks of boating weather ahead! :bigsmilebounce
