<FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Thinking of a good poll to try. :p

How fast will she run? Do the poll and then post the details.
What model, engine, outdrive gearing, prop, and any mods that you have to enhance top end. GPS speeds preferred but not necessary. ;) </FONT><FONT FACE="Verdana,Arial" SIZE=2>Results (total votes = 98):</FONT><table bgcolor=#FFFFFF border=0 cellpadding=3 cellspacing=0 width="75%">

Well the text is really hard to read for some reason. I'll try to edit that.

Mine is a 2000 25 Outlaw, 502 Mag MPI with stock internals but I have added a Vortech flame arrestor, CMI stainless steel headers and had the Mirage Plus 23 tweaked a bit. I can hit 69 on GPS with a half tank and just me in the boat, best speed. The speedo reads 70-71 but GPS sez 69 @ 5,100 RPM.

Here are a bunch of pix:

Chris,

Very nice pics. I'm fairly sure a 25 Outlaw will be my next ride. I love the Monster gauges and the high freeboard. Feels like a real offshore go fast without the expense of twins.

By the way, I was looking at your CMI setup. Where are your shift cables mounted? I cannot see them in the picture.

And where is the best place to get CMI's. I sell my Gil's and put CMI's on.

Hi Ric! I moved my shifter to the transom. Had to flip one of the cables because of binding but it works great. The outdrive lube bottle was moved to the transom too.
I have seen CMIs with the attatchment studs for the shifter welded to them so they could be bolted on like this:

Here's a pic of my shifter location. I used stainless steel lag bolts:

I bought mine used for around $1700. They did fit but the elbow/pipe connections from the header to the transom is in a bind. The holes in the transom can't be moved of course. There is a little bit of adjustability in the pipes and slip fittings.

The 25 is a nice riding boat and as bad as I want a boat with twin engines, it's really nice having all the room and a reasonable fuel bill with the single engine. What I really like about the Outlaw is the resemblance to the Cigarette boats.

Ric232,
Cmi's, look around and take your time. I found a set with silent choice tail pipes & compressor for $1200 on OSO.
I'll keep a look out for ya,
John:D

I've never had my Baja in fresh water yet but have had it at WOT in the Ocean (Pacific) with swells at 2-4 ft and wind waves at 1-2 ft. GPS said 62.2 and it was just for a few seconds. Getting airbourne due to the swells was scary enough for me to throttle back, quickly8o
Baja is an 99' H2X with 454mpi bravo 1, all stock except for the quick & quiet II exhaust.
