I know this probably doesn't compare to the NYC Show and of course the Miami, but its a large show. Begins January 9th. We'll be there Saturday the 11th taking in the sights and of course sporting the new TBM shirt. houston boat show

Chris, we usually get there about 2. We'll have about 6 to 8 of us but me and wife are the only "Bajaers". Been little disappointed in the last couple of years. 33 OL was largest Baja Marine Max had on display last year. Maybe that will change. Also, maybe a few more TBM members will be there in the crowd. Let us know!
hp500, I'll try to remember to take my digital with me also.

I should be in the show this Year,I used to have a booth every Year for the past ten years or so and it was always a Great show.

I t would be cool to have a TEAMBAJA BOOTH AND HOUSTON PROPELLER BOOTH TOGETHER ,I think this would be good for us all,It's something I just thought about and probably a day late and a dollar short, maybe next year we can work something out,I will surley be down there passing out Business cards and TBM CARDS as well,it's nice to have new members and I know there are lot's of BAJA LOVERS THERE.

Chris, i just reread my previous post and i mentioned Saturday the 11th. I stand corrected. We were planning on Saturday the 10th. But after further review, because of kid situation, it might change to the 17th. Hey, the 30 ol might drop in price the second weekend of the show?

Mr. Baja:
How about a little friendly :hehehmm competition. At last years Dallas Boat Show, IBC had the Hooter girls there running a game of chance. I spent an hour or so in the booth with all the Hooters wings and beer you could handle.

Let's see how you Houston boys do it. :dancingjalepeno

I'll be there there Saturday the 17th.

Hey Bruce...

That is the nice thing about "Not" being a Corp., you can do whatever you want....Since I work for Marine Max (68 stores nation wide) spending $$$ on "HOOTERS" and wings oh and beer would be great but prob. won't fly...sorry...if you ever get down to Austin for the Poker Run's I'll buy you a beer there how's that? I run the Team Marine Max 33 Outlaw. I may even get the Magazine to get you in a shot or two? (My wife and I are in this issue of "Baja Love") Awwwww...

Dave,
We are there every year. The 1st two we did were the LTPA Poker Runs. It wasn't until I joined this site a couple of years ago that I found out about the all Baja runs. Now they are the only ones I come down to Travis for. You can see our pictures from the fall run in the Gallery.

Now, how about that Corona!:cheers

Dave,

I think I met you when I bought my Islander. In fact, you might have been the one that showed me that my boat was in the Baja mag (cruising near Moody Gardens, etc). I think you and your wife were in that issue as well. Is your office right next to Michael's? I think at the time you had a 25 O/L but were in the process of moving to the 33.

Take care and tell Michael I said whazzup!

Chris

Yes Chris "Busta", that is me at Marine Max. You bought my buddy Scott's boat, he moved up to a 342. When are you moving up:dancingjalepeno . Anyway man, yep, that was my wife and I in last winters issue of the Baja Mag. in Austin.....damn that water was cold!!!!

Later,

I'm going to hold on to this one for atleast another season so I can pay it off. My impulsive side says get a bigger one, but my practical side says the boat I have now is actually perfect for where and what we use it for. Besides I've put so much time and money into the stereo, I'd hate to let it go now!

Went to Houston Boat Show yesterday. Just wanted to commend Marine Max with their Baja display. It was awesome. Also the 30 OL is what everyone has been saying. Great looking boat. Blake, great choice. Can't wait for pics. I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Baja. He spent lot's of time talking "bajaing" too me. And of course TBM. As said before, he's a true "Bajaer" first, and just happens to work for a dealer that sells them. Dave, great job on the Baja display. So good, we had to stop by twice.

Stopped by twice? I'm sure Dave would have loved to put me to work! I spent 95% of my 5 hours at the show hanging around the Baja display, crawling around, taking pictures...

I thought the Houston Show was lame. Baja was by far the only display worth seeing. Eliminator only had 2 small singles, no Velocity, no Fountain (guess Reggie is REALLY in the chit), no motor builders or HP rigging. I can say that the Dallas show has been way better, though this may be a down year for some.

I did get a chance to meet and talk to Custom Graphics. They do awsome work. His boats are on more covers than I ever thought. Hot Boat, etc., he had them all displayed. He does a lot of Baja's because of the in gel graphics. He says all he does is prep them for paint, shoot them all white, then go to town with his air brush. Clear coat over that and you're done. A 342 with top shelf graphics is $12 - $15K. Once I get my street rod done, I'll definetly give them a call... :biggrin

Bruce, that's why i mentioned only Baja. Not much anything else. Except maybe Formula. Never been to Dallas show. But does seem like more dealers up that way.

GottaHaveIt
January 20th, 2004, 02:09 AM
Yeah it was pretty lame overall. Only Baja (Marine Max), a couple of Formula powerboats, and the two Eliminators. Last year Bruce Bullock had some kick ass Skaters at the show.
Every year it gets a little lamer! Pretty soon it'll be the Houston fishing and pontoon boat show! :rolleyes

LOL...:biggrin

firehill19
January 20th, 2004, 11:56 AM
Gosh, hope not. Heard Bullock went snow sking. Said chances of selling 400k Skater at show are pretty nil so wasn't worth it. I guessed I missed the Eliminators all together. I thought the show was better than last year, but that was probably because of Marine Max's set up.
By the way, things are starting to get crazy around here.
Welcome to Houston, Patriot and Panther fans!

Keith,
I'll be heading back down for the "big show" in 2 weeks. We went to Katz's NY Deli Sunday morning. They make a kick-azz "Holy Mary".

Bruce, I was gonna ask you how was your stay? I know the city, but to tell you the truth, don't get to the inner city much. Except to the fire station. I live 25 minutes from downtown. I've heard of Katz, but never been there. I know the "NFL Experiance" is downtown at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Then i heard there having concerts every nite starting next week. All downtown. I can't believe the hotel prices i'm seeing. But that's all part of the craziness of the Super Bowl. I do know that I'm gonna be partying out north near Lake Conroe gameday. 30 to 40 people. 3 tv's, 2 of which are HD. 1 of which very large screen in "video room". My Uncle's house. Lot's of adult beverages. I'll be working Saturday 24 hrs. So I'll be ready to party when I get off at 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Are you staying at the same place then as you did for the boat show?

We are staying with a buddy off of Eldridge. It's just off the 13500 block of Westheimer, about 8 miles from Sugarland. :zzzzz
