1) I have my side vent covers off and I was going to have them painted the three colors of the boat. Red, Black and Grey - wife says they should be one color only. What do you guys think?

2) Drop out seat is bent on her side from when we bought the boat. I have it out and apart. Do I order a new base or try to have someone fix it. Where do I order new seat parts from?

3) I removed the anchor light and have a new electric one on the way!!! :thumbsup

4) Put the radio back in and decided that I could spend $2K and I better wait until next year.

5) Fenders for the trailer will come off in the next week to go to the body shop for new paint and fixing. Tire blew on driver side and it's fiberglass.

Personal choice, but id agree with your wife. I think one color would be best........just pick the color that you like the best....maybe the same as your bezels on the dash or if you plan on getting the annodized cupholders make it the same color as them.

As far as the bolster support........i guess it would depend on how damaged it is. If its possible to remove it and repair while still maintaining its looks then id go for that. Compair costs that should answer your question. If new is only slightly more then id rather a new one!

The front bar is bent on both ends, I'd like new but I don't want to Baja for it. Any idea who makes the seats?

Wife is usually right on the colors! :biggrin

Eddie,
I guess I am on the outs here with everyone else. I have seen many vent covers painted with several colors and I think they look kick a$$. They usually have the colors blend from one to the other...awesome. Fix the seat if possible. If you damage it while trying, then you have your answer. Good luck with the repairs.

Ed, you will have to go through Baja for the Areo bolsters. They make their own seats and they are exclusive to Baja boats. The only exception is you can get up graded electric bolsters as an option. If you have these they are McCloed (sp) bolsters.

I think the blending looks good as well!!! :dancingjalepeno

Seat part is ordered from Baja dealer - $128.50.

Fender is off and bodyshop thinks it might be cheaper to order a new on and paint it. I have a call into Eagle for a price.

Thanks for all your help! :cheers

Would have made the stereo....Priority....Gotta have them tunes....1)speed 2)tunes 3)cosmetics....
We all know the co-pilots(the Mrs.) seat is a no-brainer....good investment towards next, of course larger, Baja....
Can relate to the fender....We shredded the right rear tire in a construction zone last year....No spare:beathead ....$ 100.00 and a very cool wrecker driver and we were on the road again. Steel fender took a serious beating. We tow with a 32 ft motor home so the wait was not bad.
Looking at 10 inches of snow outside...:mecry ..is it April Yet........???????

1) prop went to Houston Propeller this week. I think I'd rather have a bigger boat than tear into a stock 502 and hurt my resale.

2) When I turn the radio up, my wife turns it down or off. No reason to have $2k into a radio that I can only use when she's not in the boat. :mecry

3) that left me with the other stuff to get done over winter. DR. Vinyl is doing the seats now for $50.

Just got off the phone with Hawkeye to paint my vent covers three colors they want $300.00 - I just need to find the paint codes to have it done local. They also said that 30 w/the 525 is sold and gone and the HO MAG 30 OL hasn't been in the water yet.

We have rain here today, it's been 40 all week very strange weather for us this time of year.

Boat show in Omaha this weekend, I'll take pics, but I hear there is more tin than fiberglass :thumbsdown

Dave, arn't your rear vents plastic? if so i thought you couldn't powdercoat plastic?

davesoutlaw
January 20th, 2004, 10:40 PM
The stock rear vents are plastic but I ordered the metal fusion coated ones from eddie marine about a year ago. The color I ordered was called wineberry, after I got them did not like the color looked like a cross between purple and pink, so I had them powdercoated red to match the side ones.

Dave,
The side vents look great. I have been considering doing the same to mine. Can't wait to see a picture of them installed on your boat!

Eddie!
take the originals out and get a piece if aluminum material and trace the part out, and cut it out. Than have the aluminum parts anodized RED . than reinstall. keep the originals stock.
It will match your swim platform.
Are you guys coming down this weekend to the OP Boat show?
Pit.
