You know I just can't see Baja dropping the 25. The 25 is their best selling Outlaw.

I have heard the same thing. 23 is probably very close and the 27 will follow. I too have heard the 25 will be history. Another note, I also hear that 42 or even a 44 is also in the works.

Would be a nice single engine replacement for the 29' since the 30 is twin only. Have to see how it shakes out, we sure like our 25 OL
Thinking about going boating this weekend if they are right on the weather and it holds into Sunday. Going to charge the battery and get her ready for the water tonight. :party

I just came back from Boston Boat Show and an insider confirmed the 23 Outlaw will be here very soon followed by the 27 in a year or two.

The 23 will have drop down bolsters and look like the new 30.The rear sunpad and seat will also be custom.
The 25 is going away in a few years.

I must say getting rid of the 25 takes some guts....has to be the biggest seller. :D

That will take some guts, I wonder if they will offer twins for the 27? that will be something, hope so...

I'd say judging by the number of new models Baja has put out in the last couple of years alone, they are definitely doing a retool of the entire Outlaw line. As much as I like the 25, a 27 foot model with the new deck would be very nice. I would guess they have thought long and hard on that one. You don't put your prized race horse out to pasture with out a good replacement. Time will tell.

I think BAJA is making a good move, there is to big of a jump to go from a 25 to a 30 i like to stay with a single engine.

If they go with say a 27 they would have to reconfigure where a single engine could push it pretty good speeds. The best a 25 will do with a HO is low 70 range and I would think that would be the engine they would like to put in the majority of the 27's to keep the price down. I would hate to see a new boat design that would not get above 70, and since they are doing away with the 500 EFI you would have to move up to the 525 which is a considerable jump in price. You would be looking at close to 80 or 90k for a 27 ft boat. I hope they stick with the 25 maybe just do a redesign. Update it too look more like the 30.

Donzi uses the twin 6.2 litre's in their 28 ZX, which minus swim platform is about 27'....but that would make the 27 $100k plus too....

Id like to see something smaller, like a 12 OUTLAW.
Or how about out do OUTERLIMITS and go with a 55 OUTLAW?

A while back I was thinking about reverting to a single engine boat as an alternative to getting out of boating all together. I knew going back to a 25O/L would have been tough because of the size difference. Going to a 27O/L might not be too bad. Steelware hit the nail on the head though.
It’s common knowledge that a 25O/L with a 496 HO will only run about 68 mph. A 27O/L could not possibly be faster and would most likely be slower. I know some of you dreamers talk about Baja increasing speed by using “high-tech” methods and materials, wind tunnel testing, etc. A lot of the high hopes around the 30O/L were based on that belief yet most reports have a 30O/L running just as slow as a 29O/L. I don’t know how Baja could get a 27O/L to run faster than a current 25O/L.
(And don’t tell me wind tunnel testing and various smoke-and-mirrors will make it faster. The wind tunnel does only one thing to the boat – it makes it cost more.)

I think a steped hull would be the answer.
