What a great day Sunday was. Went to houseboat on Saturday. Unable to get Baja out till Sunday though. Took family and friends out. Boat ran excellant! Weather perfect! Low 80's. Saw lots of Bajas out at Papa's On The Lake and then running wot later. I need to get water cards to them! It doesn't get any better for early March. Sun, fun, beer, family and friends, and "bajaing". Summer is near!<img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/glasses.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://www.egameaddiction.com/posticons/excited.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smilie/party/550.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Dancing-Chilli.gif" />

You early boaters are killing me. I was able to get mine out yesterday and give it a good wash and wax, but we are looking at snow again this week. You got to love these East Tennessee springs. You never know what you are going to get. :headspin

Haulin, I am right there with you, Im looking at probably at least another month before i make the trek down to Morris, IL (where Grand Sport Center's storage place is) to pick mine up, this is definitely the worst time of the year, so close...yet so far away :beathead :beathead :beathead

If the Houston weather stays nice for the next few days I hope to be out on Lake Conroe during the week for an hour or so. Had mine out for the first time a couple weeks ago. :)

Daves -
yes i do, my lake house is actually just down the street from Captains, our normal day usually includes tying up at the sandbar (petite lake), off to blarney's then the nightcap at freddies. We will definitley have to hook up this summer

Chris, Sunday was almost like a normal summer weekend. Lot's of boats, but not too rough. Sure was nice chillin out in the middle of the lake. Two things i missed were, camera and being able to float in the water. Still too cool!

Dave, i'll be working. But keep us informed on the days you get to Conroe. I'd like to check the poker run boat out. You missed a great day Sunday! We might be back out at the houseboat at Del Lago on Saturday, if the weather holds up.

Keith,
I know! The weather was soooo beautiful. I had off Sunday but seeing as how it tends to ALWAYS RAIN ON MY DAYS OFF:beathead I had to play catch up around the house. I am always off on Wednesdays and I am off for two Sundays then work a Sunday....I have to work this Sunday:rolleyes . We'll definately catch up (hopefuly) sooner then later....until then I will just keep being envious of everyone boating when I have to work....Hope everyone (when the weather thaws for some of ya'll) has a safe start to the boating season!
Later,
MR BAJA!

Ok, I have a question for all you guys on the Fox Chain. I've never been there. I live near Joliet. I hear a lot of good and bad about the place. I was thinking of going up there some time this summer, but I'm afraid about tearing up my boat in the shallow water. Have you guys had any problems with the shallow water? Where are the good places to go?

I ahve been boating on the chain since I was a kid and yes there is some shallow water but you just have to know the lakes. All in all I ahve never had a problem out there ( minor nicks on the prop) it is a fun place to hang on a sat or sun afternoon.

I was thinking about getting a cheap aluminum prop to put on the boat if I go there. I really don't want to tear up my SS prop that Darin is working on right now. Where are the good places to go?

Matt,
That is a very good question. I am waiting to see how this plays out. I have been on the phone with Baja numerous times within the past month. We drove down to the lake last weekend and met with our dealer who assures us he will take care of us, no matter what. I am waiting on a call today from Baja to see what they found out with their engineering department. At least they have acknowledged there is a problem with our boat. Talk about frustrating. Hopefully, within the next week or two I can fill everyone in on the events we have experienced over the past four to five months.

Awesome! Maybe we can arrange a small TBM/BBOA Lake Conroe get-together in May? I don't have my work skd yet.
When you find out the dates let us know. There are quite a few Baja'ers around the Houston area!

Let me know too...I'll try and be there as well! Went out this past Wed. with my wife....her dad brought out his 03 29 OL with HO's...beautiful day...a bit cool....upper 60's with a South wind at about 15-20...the 33 ran like a champ for about 45 min...than I lost the STBD motor...think it is the Crank Position Sensor....(hopefully)...Oh well....good to get the Gremlins out now than later in Austin or at Tickfaw!

Hi All,
A Lake Conroe get together would be awesome! Let's make it happen!
Firehill, it was a great weekend last weekend. I actually had to wait to get into Papa's! And the Baja's definitely ruled the docks!
Was hoping for more of the same this weekend but, oh well.
And for all of you still enjoying winter, you all are welcome to come on down!

hey MR BAJA what year is your 33. and what speeds are you gettin? thanks i get my new 03 33 next weekend w/ the tail pipes
MR BAJA
March 15th, 2004, 03:36 PM
The 33 I am running is a 2004 with HO's....Havent really gotten to get a true speed out of it yet because the motors are sitting on the rev limiters (5200 RPM) with stock 26's...I can't even trim it out all the way and they only have about 7 hrs. on them....but the speedo is showing 79....I think the boat will be an honest 77-78+ with 28's on it.

Hmmm, just checking my calender. The weekend of May 8th is good . Or of course Memorial Day Weekend. <img border=0 src="http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Dancing-Chilli.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smilie/party/550.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Dancing-Chilli.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://www.addis-welt.de/smilie/smilie/party/550.gif" />
And of course, Del Lago Resort would be the meeting place?

I'll check their web site for accomodations. Is that the place to stay? Do they have slips on the water?
firehill19
March 15th, 2004, 09:28 PM
Bruce, yes, check the website. It will show you what you need. I keep both of my boats there all year. You can either get a slip or pull up againist the bulkhead. Great sportsbar. We can party on the docks at my houseboat in the evening before hitting the bar. Feel free to contact me on any info you need. Del Lago has basicly been my second home since 1996. Hmm.... we might be on to something here!

Busta, saw you on here yesterday and was hoping you'd read the post. What about May 8th? I know that's a couple of months away but gives everyone a chance to plan ahead.
