Check your motor mounts!

Merc's motor mounts are notorious for coming loose. Seems just about everyone that I boat with have had the motor mounts work loose at one point or another. Some boating buddies just spent 6 hours Saturday re-aligning both engines due to loose motor mounts.

I have my engines aligned every year when I do the outdrive service. Good preventative maintenance. Couplers are expensive!

I spun a coupler last spring. The mechanic said the tabs were never bent over the flats of the engine mount nuts; hence mis-alignment. >:

Now I eyeball them myself...
