I was on ebay motors and saw all the 2009 Baja's Shogren has being sold with no power. Does anyone know why they are selling them like this. Seems like it would be easier to sell with power.

I'm sure they expect you to order the power from them as well. It is common for the power to be added to the customers preference. It helps them keep their on hand inventory down so they don't have 4 identical boats with 4 different power options. I am not sure you could even get financed for it without power? Maybe????

Someone give them a call and pretend to be a customer and inquire. Do you have a link, I couldnt find the boats.

Go to ebay - Motors - Boats - then - type Baja then search
I just viewed them, I like the Baja's before fountain better myself
just my opinion.

I would buy one like that. You can build your own power for a lot less money.

All the boats did have power in them. They are taking them out. That's what I don't understand. Why take out the power to sell the boat.

I wonder how they get the motors out with the drive attached? They must pull the drive then stick it back on.....??? Baja could have pulled the motors and sent them back to Merc to cover debt.

It only takes about 15 minutes to pull the drive off, and without the engine it only takes 15 minutes to put it back on. I can't see why they are doing it though. Maybe Merc wants there money from Reggie so they are repoing the power from his boats. :noidea:

Scott replied on another board saying they are just basically getting creative trying to move some boats. He said they will sell with power or without. Can't blame the guy for trying something new.

I don't think they ever took them out, they were selling them without power and if someone wanted one that way then they were going to pull the engine. Not a bad idea. You could build a 600 Hp engine for a little more than half of what a mercruiser goes for. :noidea:
