232 differences

I have a 1996 232 that I am trying to order a custom cover for, but my problem is the manufacturers can only find this boat as a 1997. My question is, is there a difference between the 1996 and the 1997 232. My boat is not a boss nor an islander just a plain ole' 232.

Also, would you recommend the Sunbrella or the Sharkskin and why?

I have a 2000 Boss 232, and from this believe any 232 with a windshield, newer than '94-'95, will use the same cover. I have the original cockpit cover in Sunbrella, and also bought an aftermarket mooring cover that is "sharkskin" - I prefer the Sunbrella, as I feel it breathes better. Only downfall is, if your Sunbrella is a dark color (mine is red) it tends to fade, where sharkskin is usually silver, and stays that way.
