I wish that was closer to me. I've been looking for a deal on a 23 or 25 for awhile...

May be worth a phone call. These companies get paid by the banks. I would not be surprised if the bank paid for the transportation. It may cost you a plane ticket but if it is what you want then go get it and just make a short vacation out of it when you go look at it.

How do these places work? Are they repo boats? Do you just call and make an offer?

I like those boats....came close to buying one. Same cockpit as our 26 which is a plus in my book. It's fast, a good size for most lakes and towable with a half ton truck. It's a shame that so many of them had structural problems.

It's a steal at that price, but I'd be concerned whether it got the needed repairs or if the repairs were done correctly. Search for threads by Nordy Racer; he had a friggin' nightmare with his 23OL.

Too bad they don't clean and cover the boats

Most you just contact and give them a price. They give that to the banks and review the offers and take the highest bid.

I'm almost scared to buy a 23 after reading the threads about the hull issues...

How fast are the 23's? My wifes cousin has an 06 23OL, but I don't think she's ever opened it up.

The 26's are nice. Last Saturday we stopped by the local Baja dealer and saw a 08 26OL with a blue and yellow hull (awesome looking boat)... the tag on it said $85K.... the sales guy walked buy and I (joking) asked him what it would take to buy it... he quickly said $69K. Kind of off the subject, but I thought that was a good price (even tho its about double the money I want to spend).

With an HO, a 23 will run with my H2X...but can't take me on the top end. Pretty close though.

From experiance I can tell you what to look for in the hull. It's actually pretty easy to spot. I'm having mine fixed. As for speed with a labbed prop I'm in the upper 60's.
