Looks like the weather is going to cooperate somewhat, and we are planning on leaving Thursday after work for Dallas. At least it looks like there will not be any ice. Can't wait to get the new boat. Heck the way the weather is around here we might even get to use the boat some before we have to winterize. This past weekend it was 70 and sunshine. I'm delivering a 25 Outlaw for one of my friends, who sold his to someone in Texas. So we will have a boat both going and coming.

For those who live in Dallas, could you recommend a good restaurant to eat at Friday night. Steak preferrably.

There are a million great staek houses in Dallas. Let us know where you are staying and we can recommend one close by.

Have a safe trip and good luck,
Bruce...:tiphat

We are going to Lewisville, Tx. I think we are going to stay at the Hampton Inn in Lewisville.

I agree with Mo.

Head south on I-35E, you will come up to Loop 12 (northwest HWY), head east and there are many, many great places to eat.

Or just head up North about 5 miles and eat some steak at Texas Roadhouse. (my fav)

We made it back home. 2000 miles in 3 days. 1000 out there pulling a 25 Outlaw with no problems, and 1000 miles back pulling a 33 Outlaw with no problems. Tested the boat on Friday, then went to Saltgrass like some of you suggested, and it was fantastic. Now I have her home, and it's time to start putting accessories on. Can't wait till spring time.

Jeff,

The boat looks AWESOME! Sorry more of our pictures did not turn out.

Guys, I have to tell you. It was 42 degrees Friday morning when Jeff water tested the boat so I stayed on shore! But when Jeff brought the boat back in he but it on the trailer the very first attempt, and looked like a pro!

I think I was up for almost 36 hours straight the first leg, but it was a great trip. That was the first time I have ever rode in the passenger seat of the Ford, but Jeff drove all the way back. I don't think he trusted me with the 33!!!!!!!:lol

Had a great time buddy, cannot wait to go for a ride.

42 degrees? I would have kept my a$$ on the shore also. Glad you guys had a safe trip, and I look forward to hooking up some time this summer.

Thanks Doc, we could not ask for any nicer friends than you and the Mrs.

Doc is a pretty good navigator, in 2,000 miles we only missed one exit, not too bad. He also kept the XM radio going the whole trip.

I started installing goodies already. I finished the on-board battery charger tonight. But that is only the start, there is plenty more to do before spring time.

I have not been on the boards for a while. The bosses are micromanaging at work. And the steel business is booming, were are extreemly busy. The Saltgrass is great. We got a gift certificate for chistmas, but we don't have them in Oklahoma. Need to educate my Texan relatives. Oh well.

Were you the one taking a name poll for the new boat? I was just curious which one got picked.

Carol,

Yes I was the one who was asking for suggestions on names. I decided to go with the same name as the old boat.

Yeah, after two thousand miles I finally have mastered the GPS.

I could not believe this Bar BQ house that was programed into it somewhere east of Shreveport. It was called Podnuh's Bar BQ and damn it was good!:smokin

Hats off to whoever told Jeff about "Saltgrass". That is a really good steak house.

As for missing an exit, since that was North of Atlanta in Jeff's home turf, I am not going to take blame for that one!:spineyes
