What kind of top speed does a 275 perf. get with the 496 mag HO with 1/2 gas and two adults?

I would guess mid 60's.

I would hope upper 60's.
The 272 we had with 502 Mag ran 65 on GPS. Not sure how they changed the hull, but the 496Ho is suppose to be stronger than the 502Mag.
Maybe 67 to 68 MPH under the conditions you described?
It is a great riding boat, I can tell you that much. You will find that in rough conditions you can outrun faster boats that cannot hang in the rough.

I just bought a 2004 Baja 275 with a 496/425 at the end of the summer and I only have 10 hours on it so far. The speedo in the boat shows 69 mph as the fastest speed so far. I have not used GPS to record the speed yet and I doubt that I will because it will only show a slower speed and I'm happy with the speedo for now. LOL:biggrin

Phil,
Thanks for posting. I bet your speedo is closer than you think.
The speedo on my 212 was 2 MPH fast.
The speedo on my 272 was 1 MPH slow. A real bummer!
The speedo on my 36 was Dead Nuts On.
I have talked to more folks with pretty accurate speedo's than not.
Was told by a Baja guy the the hull on the 275 was more efficient than on the 272, and the 496HO was stronger than the 502 Mag.
I think I will stick with my original numbers!

I'd be willing to bet money you can't get by a 25 Outlaw with a 502 MPI Duncan. You better keep looking, when that 25 w/the HO MAG couldn't pass me it ended up on the auction block.

Should be really close. Every 25 I have been in with a 502mpi will run just a tick under 70 or so.

I had to look thru my pictures and the best I found was 69.2 on GPS - his old 25 Outlaw had a 496 HO MAG and he couldn't catch me. Maybe it's the driver? 0]
He's out of town, so we can give him a hard time. Dan had a lay over in Denver and had a chance to go look at the boat. He called me about 9:30 a.m. and it sounds like a very nice ride. I just don't think he's going to be happy coming out of a 25 Outlaw when he was looking for twins. :headspin

25OL or 275 decision was esy for me. The 275 is nice and a nice riding boat but if you want to hang go with the 25 496HO

Time will tell eddie!! I would be happy to see 68-69 on the gps. I think your only advantage thus far is your accel. prop from houston.
