Jeep,
Welcome. Look around the board, there is plenty of info on the 23OL. I jus saw a thread in the PRAISE FORUM.

Just checked out the Baja's on display at the Dallas boat show. I was VERY impressed with the 23 Outlaw. It sounds like you got a great price, the boat show price for the yellow one had a "show" price of $56k.

It is a very good looking boat, I'm sure you will like it.

Welcome to TBM.

I also bought a 23 outlaw, With just about all the options, trailer, 496 mag, SST, better stereo, docking lights, 6 disc, and ext. I payed around mid to high 50's. I also had a trade in a 2004 LPX Crownline, But with the numbers game who knows ??? Congrads on your new boat.

Other options I forgot to mention: We also added deck graphics to match the SST stripe, (like the 25 outlaw and up) And we had the back "vents" on each side painted purple. We added purple cup holders inside which set it off great!!!

Ok, I had a chance to crawl all over the 23 at the boat show. Looks like a really neat boat. Cockpit just as large as a 25.

However, there was on thing that got my attention. The bimbo pad! WOW, very spongy. I weigh about 215. When stepped on it it bow'd down. Don was there too. Did the same thing with him & he is lighter than me. I am not talking about the foam under the vinyl. I am talking about the plastic structure. It was not rigid, at all. I equate it to putting a piece of plywood between two saw horses and standing in the middle. While it would not bend that much, it was noticeable. Both visually and kinesthetically. Not sure what it would be like out on the water under normal conditions where you might have four or five people standing on it.

I know getting rid of the wood is a good thing, but they have got to come up with something a little more sturdy. Anybody else notice this when looking this boat over?

Interesting Curt. They used the same material on my 20 Outlaw and also on the 245 I have now. I have not noticed any problems in rigidity. I wonder if this is an isolated incident.

I wondered that myself. That is why I am asking. If it was wide spead, you would think somebody would have said something by now.

My dealer should be getting his 23 Outlaws in the next month or so. I look forward to getting a first hand look at it so I can judge for myself.

I just purchased a 23ol,me and my wife both walked acrossed the sunpad and did'nt notice that it was weak or flexing in anyway, felt like my 20ol.To tell you the truth i was'nt really looking to see if it was flexing,i'll let you know how it is when i pick it up.

p.s. I don't think i would let four people stand on my sun pad at ounce,at least not on a 23ol.

I somewhat agree with the comments about the structure of the rear deck. The 202 has the plastic deck structure ( rotomolded plastic - recycled milk jugs ) and it does have a different "feel" than the good old wood deck lids. There is quite a bit of structure molded into the piece...I am not worried about ours as it doesn't get abused and it holds me just fine....although I have seen items rotomolded incorrectly...anything could happen. I do like that it is lighter and won't rot ( unlike my Hammer :( )
