how would it work on a 23 with a 496 mag?

how would it work on a 23 with a 496 mag?
My brother tried it on his boat(2006 23 Outlaw 496 mag) and said it worked well. He was real close to 70 MPH with it. His speedo is out about 3-4 MPH and he said that it read 74-75.
The prop has Rake added to it to help carry the boat with bow up attitude through the rough stuff. Brett can adjust it if need be but it should be spot on for your boat.

Just curious as to what prop you are going to use now and why you got rid of the 25 pitch? I have the same boat and engine as you and usually run a labbed 23 mirage plus. I also have a Merc Rev 4 but really dont like the way the boat handles with the four blade prop unless I am pulling the kids on the tube or wake board. I did have a non labbed 25 Mirage plus but it was too much prop for the boat.

That is what I did..had a 23 up-pitched then labbed by BBlades. I lost a little bit on top(64.9 gps.. not during the best conditions:rolleye00 ) but the boat comes up on plain much better when it is loaded.
With just my wife and I and a 1/2 tank of gas, the 25 worked really well(averaged low to mid 65mph gps) but start loading down the boat with people and gear and only having a Mag engine..the labbed 25 was a tad too much prop to get it going.
The person who bought the 25p has a 23 Outlaw. That boat is 550 lbs lighter then mine but has the same power so my 25p will work really well for him. Kevin tried it last year and he said that he was real close to 70 mph with just him and a good load of fuel..3/4 tank or more.
BTW..Brett worked the 23 perfectly.:headbang2

Tree, Just put the raylar kit in there. The wife doesn't need new furniture in your new house. Going fast is more important than comfort.

Twin-Kyle 64.9 GPS is exactly the best number that I have seen with my labbed 23.
Hey Sonic, she would never know about a Raylar kit would she :wavetowel Thank God I talked her into separate checking accounts a long time ago!

kyle,
tried the prop out today and works really well. here are the numbers i got.
64 deg. -wind 10 to 15 mph 1 ft chop
1/2 tank gas -1/2 mark on trim gauge - 4850 rpm- 67.3 mph
less than 1/4 tank gas - 1/2 mark on trim gauge 4850 rpm- 70.2mph
it does come on plane faster than before. still has some bounce but not sure why . smooth or choppy water still has bounce in some spots, but didnt do it in all smooth or all choppy spots. also had chinn walk when trimmed out that far. was trimmed to the 1/2 way mark on gauge and a big gust of wind came on the right sid and got me kind of squirrely havent had that happen before. if i remember right the best i got out of my 23p was 66.
thanks again todd

Glad it is working for you. That prop was adjusted to help carry the bow which in turn picks the whole boat out of the water. That might explain the chine walk at speed because your boat is considerably lighter then mine.
I'm surprised about the bounce. That should of gone away. How were your tabs set??
What engine hatch do you have? Is yours made of the high density plastic or fiberglass??
