Here is what was emailed to me, since my H2X is listed on BajaBoatsForSale.com

Dear Seller,

I am interested in the immediate purchase of your item and will be make
payment via Cashier Check/Bank Transferr, my private shipping company will handle
the shipping, but before payment will be made i need to be sure of who i am dealing
with if you are going to be honest and sincere throughout the transaction. A
certified cashiers check is cashable the same day, there is going to be an excess
fund on the check, the excess fund is meant for the private shipping company who will
come to your place for pick up of the item, so shipping is not a problem, will you be
able to transfer the excess fund to the shipping company the same day you recieve
the check?. check would be sent to you so when you get payment you can easily cash
it at any cashing point near you or deposit in your bank. You'll be sending excess
fund to my shipper , which would be meant for shipping arrangement.if you agree,
signify your interest by forwarding to me your Final Asking
Price, Full Name & Contact Address and Tel #., you want the payment
addressed.

I await your response soonest.

Best and kind regards,

This seems highly fishy to me maybe it's not but I haven't even bothered to reply.

It appears they will be a sending a fake cashiers check. I researched it, and it appears to be a popular scam. Local Baja Dealer Also confirmed they have heard of this kind of deal before.

I would say beware, but again read my sig, I'm very Paranoid.

Just a heads up and some input would be nice.

It REEKS with the FISHIE smell...as GOD told Adam..."I AINT NEVER GONNA GET THAT SMELL OUTTA THEM FISH.'

BUT...if you want to have some fun (I sure as Hell would)...play this asshole at his own game. Get him to send the check...then email him and tell him that your name is mispelled or something. The last time I got one of these, I kept him on the hook for almost 3 weeks before he was smart enough to figure out that ""HE"" was being scamed. Damn it was fun.

I'm going to give this clown a run for his money for hitting all us Baja owners up with this scam. I'm writing a little something (sinister something) to embed in my reply email. So I can locate what IP he is accessing his Yahoo email account from so I can trace.:24: :24:

A surefire sign this is a total scam is this IP is with Ripe that serves Eastern Europe and many sinister online opperations (mine for example)

Second IP allocation is Host name: 82.128.18.255
IP address: 82.128.18.255
Location: NIGERIA

Nigeria is a hot spot for internet scams especially 419 Idenity Theft Scams. A little more snooping, I'll see if I can get into the box in a second.:smarty:

At a closer look after I've tried a couple of low ball tricks to get into this remote machine I realized that these IPs accessing the Yahoo email account actually being forwarded to a United Kingdom based IP.

Somewhere near Swindon UK.

I'll do some more digging. I enjoy finding out these creeps, I'm a real low life, and a real scumbag but I would never run a scam like this.:24: I'm writing something to attach to my email so I can locate the computer viewing the replies. Because the software that is sending these emails to all of us is probably a webmailer API program running on a remote server this clown is accessing.

That's no fun, it's more fun to get in find out everything there is to know about your enemy. Then use it against him social engineering your way to making him think he's going to get a super huge payoff. It's very much like a chess game, and a poker game at the same time knowing your enemy reading their reactions. I would love to get this dude to give my trac phone a call. So I can really toy with him.

These guys are nothing but online predators! They are wolves in sheeps clothes. They will steal you blind if givin the chance. Thieves period!!! Sad thing is, out of a 100 of these emails 1 or 2 fall for it. I hate thieves, my home got broke into once and robbed. It leaves a empty hollow feeling in your gut for s long time.

Very Creative, I like this idea. Then we won't have to worry about him (yes him, it's surely a guy sending these scams) making anymore future Nigerian Scammers.:24: :24:

Another key thing that indicated this was fishy is any normal person would ask me about the boat or atleast where to find more pictures. Not just come right and say ok let me buy it.
