Blake ... another question.
I was talking with my local dealer last week and he claimed that ordering a boat right now would be stupid, especially considering Baja had no incentives on the 30 OL.
He said that he would be better off waiting a bit more and having a `05 come in instead. Seems to me if the factory is 4 months out on production from orders, a guy could probably order an 05 in May and still have a month to enjoy it before summer end. I do seem to remember 04's arriving last July or August.
Do you have any idea when the factory changes over production year to year?

I dont know when production turns over, but I want the 30OL this year, not next as I have plans for the boat to do the local show circuit this coming fall.

Blake ... didn't mean in reference to you, sorry.
I was inquiring about a possible order and he basically told me to wait because Baja is so far behind. He was supposed to have his 30 OL for the MLPS boat show in Jan. and has yet to even hear when it will be shipped. Thus his thinking an 05 would be a better choice I think.
He's definately frustrated with Baja. The 30 missed both major shows up here and he's thinking he's going to sit with it for a while.

Usually in the boating industry, most manufacturers start coming out with the next model year around July 15th or so.

Blake,
Have you got your plane tickets yet?
How long will it take to complete the build process once they begin?
Will they water test the boat?

When we got our boat We bought a bottle of Rossi and Martin Asti Spomonti to christen it, but We kinda wanted it to be special so we waited till we met others at the dock. Later when Gary bought the 40 Outlaw. we were hanging and I just happened to think that we had it and I tossed it on ice, And we toasted to both new Bajas with Really good friends.

Bruce,
I have not done my plane tickets yet, but I will (I am good as long as I am 7 days in advance) The build should take just under a month as I am expecting delivery to Channel Marine on or around May 1st. I dont know about water testing, good question.

Blake,
Your water test should be dropping it in the ocean say at Hampton, NH and drive it home:eek

Aahhhhh yeah. But don't forget you can cut through Cape Cod under the Sagamore and Bourne bridges. Still too long??!! Just kidding - but is would be a nice trip. You would have to pick the right weather cond.

It might be kinda long..........but just think of all the time you'd get to spend with your new toy!
As far as the water testing goes.............When i was at the Baja factory I was told that they water test all twin engine boats.
