Does anybody do this i have been talking to the people in kansas and it sounds like it might be a money saver here,no sales tax or property tax from what i understand just name your boat and have a home port on the boat i have talked to missouri and oklahoma and they are different, you have to follow state rules.

I don't know anyone who could, that didn't do it.
You still have the personal property tax in MO but we saved about 1/2 the money over sales tax.

Read this thread. No Sales Tax (http://p201.ezboard.com/fteambajamarinefrm43.showMessage?topicID=7.topic) I think it should contain all the info you need.

Well: The Boat has to fit into a certain criteria, called Tonnage, it has to displace a certain weight, and carry certain equipment.

It has to displace so much water for it's size to qualify. My last 25' boat woud not qualify. The 29 works though.

I lost the link, but there is a site on the net that figures out your tonnage for you....you need the length overall, widest part of the beam, and depth of the hull at deepest point!
If you do a internet search it tells you how to do the math.
