I called my dealer today but they said I needed my hull id.:rolleyes

A 20 is a 20 is a 20. If I need carpet for one what difference does it make?

Hull ID? WTF for? You have the part numbers right here!!

Hope you are sitting down...$570 YEEEEOUCH! A friend has a friend who has a upholstry shop. He said If I get the carpet and cut it as needed he would hem the edges with matching fabric..... Might give it a try...I am a cheap a$$

For over $500.00 I don't blame you. I really don't like carpet in a boat, I usually keep a couple of absorbers on board and just mop up any spills or water. It looks nice, but not a big deal to me.

I have found the diamond pattern in the floor of the Islander to be a dirt magnet...and quite brittle. I dropped my utility knife while doing the stereo install and chipped one of the diamonds off....AAAHH!! Carpet will be manditory....going to buy some area rugs at Walmart this week to keep the dropped "beverage" cans from damaging something.

You can buy the carpet in bulk from baja through you dealer it is a lot cheaper.

Has anyone ever purchased the bulk carpet from Overtons or Ski Limited? Is it worth buying?

toypuller is correct - you can buy the carpet from Baja bulk at the dealer and have it made. ASH did it for his 320 and then took it to a local shop.

I once knew who the manufacture was for the carpet, but I can't remember. I think you can buy it from them as well. Like RPT or KTP I don't remember the name for sure, but I'm sure someone here knows who they are.

I have an 04 202 Islander which I ordered with carpet. The boat came without carpet. My dealer says carpet is not available yet and knows nothing of when it will be. Who have you talked to about the availability of the carpet? Do you know if the Baja logo is embroidered on it?

The customer service at Baja gave me the part #'s and I took them to my dealer and he ordered me the carpet, and yes it has the Baja logo for extra money. Mine should be here this week, it's blue with a yellow baja logo.

I appreciate the fast reply how much extra for baja logo or did I already pay for it. I payed $600 EXTRA FOR the carpet and 900 hundred for the aluminum swim platform. Do you have the part # for the black carpet with the baja logo. I sure could use it my dealer is dense.:evil

Mike please let me know when you get your carpet. So I can put the heat on my dealer for mine. And do you know if there is carpet for the bow as well or just the back. How does it look worth $600 or what.

Got my carpet yesterday, it looks great. I put the snaps in the boat and carpet, it did not come with them in the carpet. The only complaint is I got blue carpet with a yellow Baja logo, and the logo looks a little green because it's on the blue carpet. FYI the carpet is from R&R textiles. Mike:dancingjalepeno

Mike did a chunk of carpet come for the bow of the boat or does it only cover the back. CALVIN:evil

I wish I had a digital camera, no they did a really good job on it. It covers the bow, cockpit, and where your feet go in the cockpit all in one piece. The Baja logo is right in front of the back seat. :biggrin

Mike thanks for the fast reply. Its nice to know they did a good job.Mine is supposed to be black with white logo.BAJA emailed my dealer early last week and said the carpet had been shipped to them.So maybe I will see it this week.Kinda sucks that they left it up to you to install the snaps in the carpet.Did you borrow the tool and do it your self for the snaps .Or have a pro do it.Iam gonna hate drilling holes in my boat.

I called R&R Textiles and spoke to a nice lady who gave me the lowdown on ordering carpet from them.

First, they don't have patterns so you can't call them and say "I need carpet for a 2003 Baja 20 Outlaw". You have to make your own pattern and send it to them. Second, if you want the Baja logo it will cost an additional $250+ for the inlay, provided you get Baja's permission. Third, they only sell in 6' or 8' widths and you have to buy an entire rectangle. That means even though my carpet will be "H" shaped due to the seat bases, I'll pay for the space "cut out". The woman suggested that I have those little squares finished and used as boarding mats. Great idea!

Other than those issues I thought their prices were good. Anywhere from $5-$8 per sq. ft finished. I think I'll give them a try. I've ordered a sample kit of their blue shades so I can choose from different styles and colors. I estimate (without actually measuring) that I can get cockpit carpet for my 20 OL for under $200.

Anybody else use this company?

That sounds like a great deal! What type of material do they need for a template? Could someone create a drawing file using AutoCAD or other drafting software and email it to them or do they need a full size template made from cardboard? If you get more information I would be very interested. Did you say those prices were for a FINISHED product??? I am impressed... Give us the scoop!

finally got my carpet waited three months. Ordered my 2004 202 islander in November picked it up in march with no carpet. Didn't come.requested black with Baja logo. JUNE27 2004Carpet came with no logo pissed right off:evil . I even phoned baja to make sure they requested the logo to RR-TEXT. And they said they did. Would it do any good to complain to Baja and let them no its not the right carpet. :evil
