Well kids,
We have finally accomplished a mission that was inevitable. We have overtaken the "other board" with 200 more postings on this day! I am honored to have such an insightful board and such knowledgeable and friendly members. We all deserve this and it confirms where the "hardcore Baja owner" gets their wealth of information and other cool stuff on the web! :D
We ARE THE ONE AND ONLY HOME FOR BAJA BOAT OWNERS! Anything else is just left in our wake! 8)

It really helps to advertise. I bought my Baja in Nov '99 but didn't know this site existed for months after it started! I found this site while searching the internet for Baja related stuff. At the time I was posting on the Hot Boat forum. I knew OSO existed but didn't dig deep enough to find out they had a Baja section..or maybe they didn't have it at the time. I didn't hang out much on that site since I didn't consider my single engine lake boat to be "offshore". :rolleyes

Thanks Blake for starting TBM/BBOA. Without a doubt this place sure is the Baja Owner's Authority on the WWW! ;)

It is common knowledge that I lurk the Baja board over there. I dont think its apple to oranges. We have only 525 members on our board and they have 9,000. That is a HUGE difference in averages.

I enjoy both boards. There is a lot of good technical information over there. But there is a LOT of B.S. also.

As for real Baja fellowship, Team Baja is the place to be.

We are only talking about Baja, for a brand specific boat , one boat manufactuer versus the 30 or so other. We simply have them beat and we are damn proud of that, The numbers for the Baja board dont lie. They have 9,000 members that visit that site and see the Baja board as an option, that is exposure. And we have our tiny slice of 525 members and they all come here. Maybe they should shut down there Baja Forum because of these statistics? 0]

It will be no use as we leave them in our wake from here on in. There is no competition when it comes to BAJA'S! BOATS or BOARDS! (Yes, I am proud, DAMN Proud!)

OSO is like CNN, it's good for a couple of laughs but when you want to know what's up you go to FOX NEWS (TBM)

Now this is where the topic starts getting juicy, I know who LIQUID is and what he does, and unlike "the other board" he can say whatever he has to say right here without being deleted, we dont operate like other boards that filter negative comments and are biased towards topics and posts.

Let me answer his last post to me, He says they talk about boats and poker runs, well that may be true, but the other 75% of the board is filled with nonsense and OT's about who is the best dog groomer in Florida :D (what the hell is a OT anyway?)

Now onto our board, we started our board back in January of 2001, looong before "they" even had a Baja board, I was even a moderator at one time while we had this board. (You can read about all that in another topic) And what we did can hardly be called spamming, and since we are no longer part of the "other board" (for more than over a year) we have gained more exposure by word of mouth for our new members than any silly "ridicously expensive" advertising banner could have done for us there (advertisers take note)
Now you say you have boats to talk about, so you wont be coming here, well then you most definately wont be finding boat talk there. So may I suggest FASTBOATS.INFO.

Lets touch on how fast my 2000 25 Outlaw SST is, Its fast enough for the $36,000 I paid for it over 2 years ago, no one is ever happy with speed and lack of it, if I repowered tommorow, I would still not be upside down on this boat If I were to sell. And you know what, for the 4 months of boating I get, my wife has knocked sense into me regarding this exact speed problem. I will save my money till the 30 Outlaw comes out.

In closing, it seems as though we ruffled a few feathers with you, Liquid, but that comes with the game we play, competeition is good, so is greed (had to throw in my favorite movie quote, can anyone guess the movie?) But you must admit when you are wrong, and the fact still remains that we have more Baja activity and Baja info right here with 90% less members and exposure.

On a final note, where you go and what you read is entirely up to you, but to get upset over this topic when you dont even have a financial interest in the "other board" is your choice. You "other boarders" are tough cookies, the loyalty is astounding, You guys post like whores admittidly just to get your personal counts up and to keep topics flowing and you stick around through all the BS.

Liquid, I invite you here anytime to get the only Baja information you will ever need. Dont settle for anything less.

When I was looking for a propeller for my Baja, I went to Google and typed in "baja propeller" and what popped up, 1st, on top, #1---TeamBajaMarine

I really like this sight. I found the other sites only by reading the ranting and raving about them in the threads here.

On liquid's site (aka liquid asset), I have zero posts.
On the Dental Floss site, I have 8 posts.

I too have been spending less and less time on that other site, because of the OFF TOPIC junk that is a waste of time. I can understand an increase of it durning the off season, and some of the OT is good reading.

I will say this, if "Liquid" doesn't chill I'll sign off from that site and NEVER go back.

Like I have said before, I have no problem with you or anyone else for that matter, brother. They do what they do and we do what we do. But, I will never forget how I was unjustly banned from OSO considering what the hell goes on over there. Thats it. This is our truce.

I just want to reiterate how this all got started, we simply posted that we are the KINGPINS for the Baja boat owners (after chasing the "other board" for almost a year) and no one can take that away from us, the numbers, post counts and all that member percentage stuff prove that we are the place to come to if you own a Baja.

You tried to justify that we were wrong, which we are not...We are talking BAJAS here, not every offshore boat that is made. Bottom line is we have the "other board" outposted and that is huge for us. They aint the only player in town and I want to make sure that they are aware of that. I want to be the thorn in their side, know what I mean?

It's all good !If we can't run a little smack now and then what fun would it be ! We do appreciate your input here too. If we all bring a little something to the table we can have a feast. Everyone learns from everyone else. That's what I get from all the boards. I try to input where I can and sit back and learn where I can't.

P.S. Why don't you come to my place and you can help me get my boat ready for spring.(new Baja logos, mirrors for engine hatch, a little touchup paint in the engine compartment, etc.)

I wish I was in Texas ! Try more like Green Bay,Wisconsin(ouch) I'm just starting to think about pulling the boat out of storage. I usually get my first dip by the end of April or beginning of May. You guys(Texans) already have 4-5 months in. Us northerners are usually boating in 50* temps the first few times out. I remember boating a few times with a winter coat, stocking cap and gloves. (cabin fever real bad):eek
