I loved the stereo upgrade I had in the 252 Islander, it had the extra remotes. Carpet would be nice.

Be sure they include a roll of duct tape..... to tape your passengers firmly in place.... (a 496.... WOW!!!!!) :eek

I would strongly suggest the extra remote for the radio as well.... one for the swim platform and one for the driver.... very nice to have.

To be honest, with the price of the 496 Mag in this package, you might as well just order about every option avaliable as this puppy is going to be pretty expensive anyways, a few bucks more on options probably is never a bad idea when you are going this far anyways.

The option package grouping that they offer pretty much gives you everything you need (just add pipes because that 496 needs to breathe!)

Why not a 232 Islander?

They don't offer them anymore.

The other thing is that the 232 hull is slower than the 212 hull (weight/deadrise etc). I wanted a 232 in the worst way, but to be honet there is MUCH more room in the 212 than the 232 (bolsters take up tons of room) and the standup footrests leave not much footroom. The 232 is a great boat for larger/rougher water, but if you are on small water where 21 is a rather large boat, might as well go for all out speed and smoke anyone else who's out there NO QUESTIONS ASKED :evil

Since you responded after me I was trying to give a "broader" and not a personal, specific answer to your question. I too will be interested to hear his reasons.
Personally I hope Baja is hard at work developing a new 22 foot Islander :)
