Since 4-1-03, I put 17 hours on my new 25-Outlaw. Should I have the first maintenance done at 20 hours? If so, is it simple enough for me to do? I would like to do it myself. Thanks in advance....

Despite what the Merc manual might say, I would:
Change the oil
Change the gear lube
Grease all the zirk fittings on the drive
Grease the splines, u-joints, coupler
Remove the drive to check/adjust alignment(Your boat, engine and drive are "settling" in and misalignment is common) Your coupler will love you for it.
Remove and Clean the flame arrestor.
Lube all steering components

The first 20 hours this is very important, after that you can space some of these things out further, but be mindful of how you use the boat. The more stress, the more frequently you want to attend to it.

That's really about it.
