M-
I'm glad you asked this question. I too am wondering what the answer is? I am going to replace my windshield with a windscreen (on my Boss 272) this winter. I have consulted with and talked to several people who claimed to be Baja experts and they can't even answer the simple question.
A windscreen was part of the Boss package. For whatever reason, the original owner of my boat opted to order it with a windshield. the $24,000 question is -- can I merely have the windshield removed and the "stock" (or what was suppose to be stock) windscreen put on in it's place ( with minimal gelcoat work)? If it were ordered with a windshield, is the top deck of the boat the same? I've asked Baja's customer service, I've asked Hawkeye boats, I've asked Grand Sport (the local dealer here in IL) and I've asked another Baja "guru" on another site. Everyone has given me a different answer. You'd swear it's rocket science! Somewhere out there is a Baja designer/ engineer who knows the answer.
Sorry for "rambling", but I am frustrated over not having this question ever answered.

The holes drilled for a windshield are on the bottom of the groove it sits in...the windscreen mounts there also but you have to drill new holes in the windscreen and the side of the groove....no body work or painting, just screw it on (fill the old holes 1st)....this is what I was told at a shop...

the windshield will come off in 5 pieces...
I posted a link in 1 of the tip forums that also showed the procedure...

found it..www.spartechmarine.com/install.htm (http://www.spartechmarine.com/install.htm)
